Bush: U.S. Must Protect Iraq From Terror

Bush said the Iraqi oil industry, already suffering from sabotage and lost revenues, must not fall under the control of     Osama bin Laden and al-Qaida forces in Iraq led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

"If Zarqawi and bin Laden gain control of Iraq, they would create a new training ground for future terrorist attacks," Bush said. "They'd seize oil fields to fund their ambitions. They could recruit more terrorists by claiming a historic victory over the United States and our coalition."

It's too bad Bush didn't take out bin Laden and al-Zarqawi when he had the chance. Then they wouldn't be available to take over Iraq's oil fields.

The Iraquiis are fighting the US military over control of their country and oil. Are we supposed to believe they will give control to a Jordanian and Saudii.

This is reason 42 for the invasion, an attempt to hitch their Iraqi wagon to the engine of American anxiety over rising gas prices. By December we'll have to stay the course to save Christmas.

  •  Of course. But they want us to say it. (none / 0)

The only way the U.S. population will support a war is if it is being fought for a "good" reason. They did not want to risk even a 100 lives in Bosnia or Somalia. But 1000's in Iraq? Ok because there is a "good" reason. Keep the cars going.

But the right cannot say or admit this. They are dependent upon the left saying it. They want the left to say it so they can deny it and say it is for  "democracy" or "security."

So people know the real reason without their dirtying their hands.
